Nikon 1 V3 - Best Moment Capture test

At the end of 2006 there was an episode of the BBC's Planet Earth called Shallow Seas. It featured some remarkable footage filmed by Simon King of sharks catching seals.

The slow motion camera that was used had a feature where it buffered or prerecorded footage before you fully pressed record. At the time my Brother and I discussed what a really useful feature this would be in a consumer digital camera - either for stills or video.

Years passed.

At some point I noticed that the Casio Exilfilm had incorporated something similar to a prerecord feature - the Casio EX-FH100 in 2010 certainly has it. No-one else seemed to think this would be useful ...

More years passed.

Roll onto 2014 and the Nikon 1 V3 has a Mode called 'Best Moment Capture' and it is pretty close to what I wanted. Surely this must be coming to the Nikon DSLR line via Live View sometime soon.

OK it's not Great White Sharks catching seals but just a few minutes with 'Best Moment Capture' can get some interesting results. More experimentation needed. Image was prefocused.
