Hmmm. If this had been in focus, sharp and perhaps with a little catch light in the eye it would of been an OK snap. Next time.

Big bird flying slow, easy. Small bird flying fast, harder.

Heron and various Kingfisher attempts ... there's a plan for a Kingfisher picture that may not be immediately apparent from the poor efforts below !

Aside from the opening clip which was shot in 2011, all the September clips for this year are back to using the night vision camera.

Confiding Kestrel

The first of this sequence was taken with the 1.4tc attached to the Sigma 500mm. I would not really advise using this combination as only 5 or so out of 20 pictures were really approaching sharp. Fortunately this Kestrel was most intent on catching lunch and allowed a slightly closer approach...

The Sigma 500mm is a superb lens on its own, but having tried it with the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 1.4 and the Nikon tc 1.4 (with the metal tab removed) it is just not autofocus reliable with a teleconverter.

Some Deer bellowing and in the distance the sound of antlers clashing with antlers, but overall it was quite subdued compared to previous years. The sun came up on a beautiful Autumn morning.
